Methodology Video Essay Workshop #5

This video essay make detailed analysis and documents the application of Unit Model Schematic applied in an improvisational film project. It documents the discussion process and development of Workshop-Film #5 [Routine Scenes] with all members of the ensemble. The ensemble systematically tested the modes and strategies collated and described in Unit Model Schematic. The application and use of improvisation games, derived from the ensemble’s own theatrical practices were used during the workshop. These games were devised and developed by the ensemble during the workshop. The workshop took place over two weekends. The first workshop tested and played with all the modes within Unit Model Schematic. The second workshop made an improvised film, which was initiated on the day of shooting with no outline or rehearsals. The Unit Model Schematic modes had been assimilated and tested by the ensemble the previous week with Camera, Sound and Performers improvising as an ensemble. The Workshop-Film #5 [Routine Scenes] used a one take only strategy with no second takes. The Methodology Video Essay Workshop #5 flm shows the use and application of modes in the film and records how the film was co-constituted between the ensemble in one day.
