This collection of 4 Research Workshop-Films were made by ensembles as part of research into developing strategies and process for improvisational filmmaking. Methodology Video Essay: Workshops 1-4 discusses each film with ensemble members and examines the improvisation processes used in the films and the methodologies of Donald A Schön (1983). Some strategies developed in these films formed improvisation modes that feature in the Unit Model Games most significantly Workshop-Film #2 [Tunnel].

This video essay examines the methodologies, strategies and processes used within 4 improvisational filmmaking workshops. These workshop developed and tested strategies and approches in the emerging model. Each of the four Workshop-Films can be seen below.

Workshop-Film #3 [Knowing Unknowing]
Knowing Unknowing is tryptch for Dance Camera and Music. A collaborative project by composer Benjamin Dwyer and Dancer and Choreographer Helen Kindred and Pete Gomes. This features a use of synchronised split screen camera which examines performer-camera relations and proximity and the use of improvising camera.
